Wave Rider Internet's 24hour telephone support is there, should you have any problems connecting to the Wave Rider servers, including access to the World Wide Web and your email. If you have any queries regarding the Wave Rider service, the Internet or general PC/Mac enquiries, please call during normal office hours on 08701 16 26 16 or email support@waverider.net.uk
Make a note of any Error/Warning messages that appear on your screen and call our Technical Support line, as long as you have a seperate telephone line, we can talk you through the connection process whilst you are on the line.

(Integrated Services Digital Network) This is a special telephone line that guarantees a connection speed of 64K. An ISDN line automatically connects whenever the user sends information requests to Wave Rider, and automatically disconnects when the data transfer is complete. Call costs are still applicable when using this service.
A leased line is a telephone line that offers a permanent connection( in a variety of line speeds) to the Internet, telephone charges are per line rather than per telephone call therefore the costs are fixed and predictable.
Wave Rider's modems are fully K56 V90 compatible. We can therefore handle any modem speeds up to 56K although it is recommended that the minimum speed required for a good connection to the Internet is 14.4K.

I can't download my email - It takes forever!! There are usually 2 reasons why you fail to download your email,
If you wish to change your login password simply email your request to support@waverider.net.uk Please remember that altering your log in password will also affect your default mailbox.

I need help with my Web Site!! If you have a general question you can try emailing support (unfortunately we cannot guarantee that your question will be answered). If your query is more involved then it will be forwarded to our Business Solutions team who will provide you with a quote for solving your particular problem.
Do you provide FrontPage Extensions for my Web Site? All Wave Riders coporate Web Sites are hosted on an NT server and FrontPage extensions are provided as standard. Dial up customer's free Web Space is hosted on a UNIX platform and currently does not support FrontPage Extensions, however this situation will be changing shortly when a new Web Server is introduced.
Do you provide CGI scripts for my Web Site? We currently have scripts that enable visitor counters to be placed on customer Web Sites, and the contents of Web based forms to be emailed out. Customers are free to develop their own CGI scripts and run them on their Sites.
Yes. Create a directory in your wavespace web space called cgi-bin and copy your CGI scripts into there. Using your FTP program set the permissions of the script to rwxr-xr-x (chmod 755). Call your script using the following code: - <FORM method="POST" action="http://wavespace.waverider.co.uk/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/username/scriptname"> You will need to change the username to your username and the sgriptname to the name of your script, remember that these are case sensitive.
Can I pick up my mail from elsewhere? Yes point your email software to mail.waverider.co.uk and log in using your username and password. Alternatively you can log in to our webmail system to view your email by opening up http://webmail.waverider.co.uk in your favourite browser.
Can I have a static IP address? Yes and No. Wave Rider do not allocate static IP addresses for dial-up connections but all our leased line customers are allocated a static IP address.
